This website is operated by Jan Meischner.

Protecting your privacy is important to me. This page explains what data is processed when you visit this website and for what purpose. I aim to keep data collection to an absolute minimum.

Access Data / Server Logs

When you visit this website, the hosting provider automatically processes technical information such as:

  • browser type and version
  • operating system
  • referrer URL
  • IP address (anonymized)
  • time of the request

This data is required to ensure the secure and reliable operation of the website. It is not used to identify individuals.

Analytics (Tinylytics)

This website uses Tinylytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service.

Tinylytics helps me understand how the site is used so I can improve content and structure. The following principles apply:

  • no cookies are set
  • no personal user profiles are created
  • IP addresses are anonymized
  • no data is shared with third parties

In addition to page views, simple interaction events (such as clicking an appreciation or “signal” button) may be counted. These events are processed anonymously and cannot be linked to individual visitors.

The processing is based on legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Embedded YouTube Videos (Two-Click Solution)

Some pages on this website contain embedded videos from YouTube. Videos are integrated using a two-click solution.

When a page is loaded, no connection to YouTube is established. Only after you actively click the button to load the video will the video be embedded and a connection to YouTube’s servers be made.

In this case, the following data may be transmitted to YouTube:

  • IP address
  • technical information about the browser and device
  • the page visited

Videos are embedded using the youtube-nocookie.com domain. This reduces data transmission to YouTube but does not completely prevent it.

The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent), which is given by clicking the button to load the video.

The service is provided by: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
